You will be responsible for managing a team of top-notch software developers on the Core Platform team focusing on the storage modules including the file system. The successful candidate must be able to work in a cross-functional environment to interact with representatives from other other engineering, product management,, quality, operations and customer support. The successful candidate must have a broad range of experience and knowledge in people management, project management and leadership skills in storage industry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day management of the software team, including task planning and assignments, adherence to schedules, production of required deliverables and weekly status report describing progress on all software group activities and issues/concerns 
  • Plan, document and communicate all software milestones and project management; properly identify, manage and mitigate risks to the projects 
  • Create product feature specifications and presentations for all products; help engineers set technical direction for the product 
  • Hands-on design and development experience in SAN, NAS technologies 
  • In-depth knowledge of storage technology design and data-structures for File-systems, disk/block-layer. 
  • Experience in caching, de-dupe, indexing, name-space operations
  • Knowledge of characterization/tradeoff with flash technologies and integration into the storage stack
  • Experience in distributed/clustered storage designs is highly desired 
  • Knowledge in virtualization and hypervisor technologies is desired 
  • Maintain data for performance reviews and write/conduct performance appraisals. 
  • Develop staffing plans and budgets to support product line and roadmaps 
  • Coordinate internal and external resources with the lead software engineers to support various sustaining activities including feature enhancements, etc. 
  • Coordinate and perform design, and code reviews; review test plans from QA and ensure adequate quality is achieved 
  • Develop, measure and enforce quality metrics for code development processes. 
  • Work with sales/marketing and key customers to help define product improvements for existing product lines 
  • Work with L3/quality/support and key customers to improve the product quality for existing products

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of software engineering principles
