Job Description

In this hands-on position, the QA Supervisor is responsible for all QA aspects of the assembly processes to ensure the highest levels of quality products as required by the customers, as indicated by IPC-A-610, Mil Standard, and as directed by management. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a Quality Assurance program to include all procedures and manage the procedures in-house to ensure error free assembly projects.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise assembly QA Inspectors to ensure the highest levels of quality products are produced. 
  • Responsible for building the First Article Assemblies.
  • Coordinate with Production quality department to identify and correct any problems encountered in the First Article Assemblies.
  • Setup guidelines to ensure only components which adhere to customer BOMs and AVLs are used on all assembly projects. 
  • Coordinate with assembly and other internal departments to guarantee quality products are shipped on time.
  • Report Quality Assurance status updates and expected completion schedule to management.
  • Document and monitor progress of the business unit and review with management on weekly and monthly basis.    
  • Meet regularly with management to discuss short/long-term goals for the business unit.
  • Conduct annual reviews for direct reports in a timely manner and provide performance counseling as necessary.
  • Create and/or maintain all reports requested by management.
  • Respond to internal and external customers in a timely manner for the business unit. 
  • Coordinate and participate in walk-through, site audits, or any other requests from customers and business partners while professionally representing the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Associates Degree  or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience as QA Supervisor of Electronic Assembly House.
  • 8-10 years experience in the Electronic industry.
  • Thorough understanding of IPC-A-610 / Mil Standard and other relevant assembly standards is a must.
  • Prior experience in creating and implementing ISO 9000.
  • Solid business decision making abilities and excellent judgment.
  • Able to be tactful while employing excellent customer service skills when interacting with customers and business partners. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems using pre-established guidelines to deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Strong ability in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT etc.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong people management/leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Highly organized and able to work with minimum supervision while maintaining effective time management. 
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after hour emergency calls.
  • Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
