Job Description
In this hands-on position, the QA Manager (Design & Assembly) is responsible for all QA aspects of the assembly processes to ensure the highest levels of quality products as required by the customers, as indicated by IPC-A-610, and as directed by management.
Job Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and manage all in-house quality procedures for the assembly facility.
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage Assembly QA Team to ensure the highest levels of quality products are produced.
- Create and implement a Quality Assurance Program to include all procedures for error free assemblies.
- Setup guidelines and QA procedures to ensure only components which adhere to customer BOMs and AVLs are used on all assemblies.
- Coordinate with Assembly and other internal departments to insure quality products are shipped on time.
- Create, implement, and manage daily quality processes to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Document and monitor progress of the business unit and review with management on weekly and monthly basis.
- Meet regularly with management to discuss short/long-term goals for the business unit.
- Conduct annual reviews for direct reports in a timely manner and provide performance counseling as necessary.
- Responsible for all reports requested by management and create new reports as needed.
- Respond to internal and external customers in a timely manner for the business unit.
- Coordinate and be available for walk-through, site audits, or any other requests from customers and partners.
- Professionally represent the company to outside customers and business partners.
- Work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after hour emergency calls
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- BS in Engineering or Business Management or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years experience as QA Manager of Electronic Assembly House.
- 8-10 years experience in the Electronic industry.
- Thorough understanding of IPC-A-610 and other relevant assembly standards is a must.
- Prior experience in creating and implementing ISO 9000.
- Solid business decision making abilities and excellent judgment.
- Excellent customer service skills and able to use tact and good judgment in contacts with customers and business partners.
- Ability to solve practical problems using pre-established guidelines to deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Strong ability in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT etc.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong people management skills.
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Highly organized and ability to work with minimum supervision while maintaining effective time management.
- Must be flexible to work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after hour emergency calls.
- Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
