Job Description

We’re looking for an Accountant in Woodbury, NY. The Accountant will check over financial statements, monitor company budgets, calculate employee paychecks for each pay period and review and prepare tax obligations. The Accountant will prepare and examine financial records, ensuring records are accurate and that taxes are paid.

Job Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Completing analysis of the employee expenditures
  • Managing income and expenditure accounts
  • Generating the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data
  • Keeping a check on the company’s finances based on financial status
  • Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations
  • Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the company
  • Auditing financial transactions and documents
  • Reinforcing financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
  • Staying informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices, applying updates to internal process and documentation to comply with financial policies and regulations

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (master’s preferred)
  • CPA or CMA certification required
  • 7+ years of progressive professional experience in accounting, including leadership or supervisory roles
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a proven track record of identifying and resolving financial discrepancies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to senior leadership and stakeholders
