Job Description
The AOI Operator is responsible for properly inspecting printed circuit boards for defects and performing rework when appropriate.
Job Responsibilities
- First Articles
- 100% solder inspection, verify no-load components, check component polarity, check component orientation, check component alignment, check for missing components, check component pad size. Follow PCB, MPI drawing, special instructions. Operate testing equipment such as multimeters, AOI machine, record inspection results on sharp floor control system
- 100% manual Xray BGA/LGA /BGA connectors (Bridge, Open, Void)
- For AOI testing- Polarity check, wrong part, missing part, reversed, misalignment, damage, open, upside down, tombstone, bridge, checking the value of components and the ID
- Operate AOI Equipment: Set up and operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems to inspect assembled PCBAs for defects.
- Defect Detection: Identify and analyze soldering issues, component placement errors, incorrect part polarities, and other assembly discrepancies.
- Quality Assurance: Verify that all assemblies meet the company’s quality standards and customer specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
- Data Logging and Reporting: Document and log inspection results, into data collection system.
- Collaboration with Production Teams: Work closely with assembly and production teams to communicate defects, and ensure proper resolution of quality issues.
- Inspection Feedback: Provide feedback to quality and processing teams, on areas where the assembly process can be improved to enhance overall product quality.
Job Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience in operating AOI machines or similar inspection equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of PCB assembly processes, including soldering techniques, component orientation, and part polarities.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to identify defects and discrepancies in complex assemblies.
- Familiarity with Industry Standards: Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and other relevant quality standards for electronic assemblies.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot inspection anomalies and collaborate with team members to resolve quality issues.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members.
- Certification (preferred but not required): IPC-A-610 certification or equivalent quality control certifications is a plus but not compulsory.
- Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of management
