Job Description
Product Application Engineer provides engineering, technical, and documentation support in product design, development and deployment. Reports to Sr. Director of Hardware Engineering located in Newark, CA.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Job Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical customer support
- Provide first-line customer support for design integration issues as well as any technical issues in production
- Interface as necessary with all engineering teams to resolve customer issues
- Update and maintain a weekly tracker summarizing all active customer technical support issues
2. Manage customer-facing communication for FA cases
- Coordinate with customers, internal sales teams, and test engineering for FA process and customer-facing communication on FA cases
- Update and maintain a weekly tracker summarizing all active FA cases
3. Manage and maintain customer-facing documentation
- Manage all datasheets for Unigen products
- Manage all firmware Specs
- Manage all customer release notes
- Manage customer-facing white papers and app notes
4. Provide technical expertise, support, and advice to the assigned external standards bodies
- Actively participate and provide technical expertise, support, and advice to the NVDIMM, ES, and CXL Task Groups
- Report developments and technical summary of relevant JEDEC TG meetings to Unigen senior management to ensure product development aligns with ongoing standards efforts
5. Provide engineering support for the assigned products
- Provide design support for new Power GEM designs
- Provide design support for new DDR5 and CXL-based NVRAM technology
- Provide design support for PCIe switch development board
- Provide test and data analysis support for NVMe drive performance
Other duties and responsibilities related to Product Application engineering as assigned
Job Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in failure analysis for SSD, DIMM, and NVDIMM products
- Proven knowledge and experience in key tools and technology such as:
o NVMe – SAS/SATA/NVMe/M.2/U.2
o Compute Express Link (CXL) interface
o JEDEC NVDIMM Firmware Specifications
o JEDEC Energy Source firmware specification
