Job Description

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for establishing, implementing, and directing the quality systems to ensure that requirements for processing components and other materials into finished goods and products conform to quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish weekly, quarterly, and annual goals for the Quality Department and ensure continual growth for the department.  
  • Budget annual costs for quality systems for the organization and present to management (cost of certifications, trainings, products, etc.).
  • Establishes and maintains quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls for the organization to ensure that we are in compliance; both internal and external (UL compliance, Mil Spec compliance, ISO compliance, etc.).  
  • Handle customer inquiries, including but not limited to troubleshooting customer issues, root cause analysis, and corrective/responsive actions within 24 hours.  
  • Collect data and create appropriate reports for management to ensure that quality systems are set in place.  
  • Works directly with manufacturing to schedule and control inspection activities and to enforce requirements as specified by raw materials, ingredients, products and package specifications, and regulatory agencies.  
  • Reviews contract documentation for completeness, accuracy, and update when necessary.  
  • Works with research and development during new product starts-ups and establishes checkpoints for testing new products and processes.  
  • Provide quality systems and training for all positions related to production and update as necessary.
  • Initiates corrective action for procedural product or process deficiencies.  
  • Evaluate and recommend certification needed for the organization and positions related to production.  
  • Develops and implements a program of supplier relations.  
  • Meet with suppliers and customers for all audits related to quality and production.  
  • Serve as the ISO9001:2008 management representative when necessary.  
  • Conform to safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Complete annual performance reviews for direct reports on a timely basis and provide performance counseling when necessary and promptly. 
  • Establish effective, efficient, and supportive teams by being involved in recruiting (interviewing and making the hiring decisions) and training staff.    
  • Ensure that department is aware of and complies with the company’ policies, rules, and regulations as well as be in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Ability to walk/stand throughout the day
  • Ability to receive after hour emergency calls.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, equivalent work experience required may be substituted.
  • 4-8 years previous experience as a Quality Manager/Supervisor in a PCB Manufacturing company.
  • 5+ years experience in a managing a department/team of staff.
  • Must have knowledge of basic military standards and audit procedures.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong people management skills.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.  
  • Excellent computer skills; Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the ability to learn new skills/tasks and grasp new concepts as required. 
  • Excellent customer service skills and able to use tact and good judgment in contacts with internal and external customers.
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours base on company needs.
  • Ability to develop (recruit, hire, train, etc.) general staff to build an effective and efficient team.   
  • Ability multi-task and perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
