Job Description
Responsible for programming horizontal and 5-axis CNC mills using Mastercam. Interprets engineering drawings, supports setup and machining operations, and collaborates with production, quality, and engineering teams. May interface with customer engineers and provide leadership on the shop floor.
Job Responsibilities
· Perform mathematical calculation of shop problems.
· Use CAD and CAM softwares to generate CNC programs for CNC machines.
· Interpret engineering drawings/blueprints and program them into CAD / MasterCam.
· Build basic machine parts, tools, and/or plastic injection molds.
· Setup parts onto the CNC Mill or Lathe and run it correctly per blueprint.
· Set up & operate multiple machines to perform a sequence of operations.
· Operations include: turn, drill, mill, and bore a variety of metal components.
· Operate and run the CNC Mill or Lathe.
· Read & understand blueprints, tolerances, specifications on the blueprints.
· Acts as a Lead and may direct other machinists.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of CNC programming experience, specifically with horizontal and 5-axis mills
- Proficient in Mastercam (required)
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Solid understanding of CAD/CAM software integration
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to lead and mentor less experienced machinists
